Opening night of junior cricket 2024

After months in the planning, cricket commenced for the summer this week with the girls first session on Tuesday 23rd April and the opening whole youth coaching night yesterday 26th April. Although a little chilly, we thankfully had none of the forecast rain and we ran 3 great sessions.

U9 (Olly and Tom)

We started with a hand hockey then moved onto a target bowling drill. Next we practised some fielding and backing up and finished with a fun game of continuous cricket. Olly and Tom were very positive about the great attitude and enthusiasm on show. Well done all!

U11 (Daniel and George M)

We started with some hardball bowling practice and then moved into high catches to warm the hands up!. For batting, we looked at driving in the V and practised what we had learned in the nets. We finished with a game of competitive continuous cricket. Well done everyone!

U13 (Pete and George B)

We started with some group warm up (needed) and some movement and stretches then we split the groups into two.

Group 1 were straight into pick up and throw and working on backing up and Group 2 were batting and bowling in the nets.

The groups then swapped and we finished with some running between the wickets and a run out game. It was great to see such excellent numbers and everyone was loving being outside again!
